RESEARCH- What makes a good title sequence according to Kyle Cooper?

Kyle Cooper is the man who single handily revitalised the main title sequence as an art form.
He thinks the things that make a good title sequence are…

-That fact that it dub tails seamlessly into the film proper. A great title sequence sets an expectation for the film.

-Relation to the actual film with the use of font.
-When the text animation goes along with the music in the line and suits animation of titles.

The font that he used in the film seven helped reflect on the film as it represented how the main character keeps journals and how he is a serial killer. This helps add to the overall tone relating to the story that the creator is trying to show for the audience like a pun.

Kyle Cooper also explains how the best title sequences can be simple typography that is played in time with the footage of the film. He also like how the title sequence from to kill a mocking bird as it encapsulated the main characters’ obsessions. Moreover he like how the form of the type created contrast within the background and integrated together to complement each other.

Story based main title sequence- Meaning the film opening has a specific back story but also a metaphor. Or a poster like pun that has to do with specifically with the film is about.

Problems a studio might face after an audience test screening- They don’t have enough of a budget to go and do another shoot or scene. Or they realise that the test audience doesn't understand a particular aspect of the film.
