What conclusion can be made from titles used in title sequences?
I analysed the title sequence of Skyfall purely looking at the titles that appeared recording the order of the titles, how long each title last for, what the font looks like and how the film title differs from the rest of the titles and then draw conclusions form that.
The first titles was the production company name, I see that this is the case with most films so the company name is seen and then recognised. The next title was the name of the main actor playing James Bond, Daniel Craig, I’ve realised that if a big name actor who is well-recognised there title is before the name of the film as it is a pulling factor to the audience to watch the film showing that the titles are created to engage the audience into watching the film. Next it was the title of the film.
The title of the film was much larger than the rest of the titles and was in the centre of the screen. The font of the writing wasn’t a lot different to the rest of the titles but a little bit bolder and the spacing between the characters are longer to fill a wider space. The title of the film is normally more pronounced than the other text because it is what is going to be shown so people can remember what they are seeing plus it was probably one of the main pulling factors to the film whether someone knew about it or not. I’ve noticed that the title of the film normally comes at the beginning or end of the title sequence this could be because they want people to see the title of the film to gain attraction at the start or to create a mind-set just before the start of the film, end of the title sequence to know what kind of film to expect as the title can give an insight to some of the themes or plots of a film.
