taken
Taken is a thriller movie starring Liam Neeson. It is obvious from this movie image, that this movie is a thriller. The fact that Liam Neeson is aggressively, holding a picture of his daughter, right in front of the mans face gives away the genre. Both characters look sweaty and exhausted, which suggests there has been some sort of interrogation.
This image from one of the best scenes in the movie taken, is one of the many reasons why i like the thriller genre. A thriller is a genre that puts the audience on the edge of their seats, and makes them keep wondering what will happen next, and whatever happens, you can not stop watching. During this scene Liam Neeson wants the man to confess, if he has seen his daughter. He has the man tied up to a chair, with a piece of cloth in his mouth, and this makes the scene thrill-full. The audience are waiting, and will keep waiting, until they find out where his daughter is, and whether or not she is alive. The thriller, makes the realism of the movie so powerful, to the point where the audience forget that this is just a movie. This realism of events is what I find so powerful about the thriller genre
prisoners
.
Prisoners is another example of a strong thriller movie. This scene shows Hugh Jackman holding a hammer over the hands of the character, Alex Jones. Again this shows that there is interrogation, as there usually is in most thriller movies. It also shows that Hugh Jackman is not waiting for the police to find his daughter, he is taking matters into his own hands, with the help of a friend. The movie "prisoners"is the reason why I like the thriller genre. Especially this scene, the father of the kidnapped girl, is doing anything he can do, to find out where his daughter is, to the extent where he is actually thinking about smashing the suspects hands with a hammer. It makes the audience wonder whether they would do the same, or whether they would leave it for the police to investigate, until it is to late. The desperation of the father, to find his daughter, makes the realism of the movie so strong.
The characters face, shows the father has done all that is within his power, to get the suspect to confess. The blood and gruesomeness, adds a hint of horror, to the thriller genre. His face also shows how desperate the father is to get his daughter back, it also shows that he has taken matters into his own hands, rather than waiting for the police to deal with i==
