analyse 3 title sequences.

zodiac, is an example of a thriller.  The title sequence used, is a title sequence over moving images.
macro analysis:
During the title sequence we are introduced to some of the main characters in the movie.  The first character we are introduced to is Jake Gyllenhaal, (Robert Gaysmith), who is the main character.  The characters are shown in their working place, during the title sequence.  They are shown in a cartoon production company, which suggests that they are working class people.  We are therefore introduced to the (characters) and the (social class), however, we are not introduced to the story line of the movie.
micro analysis:
Right at the beginning of the title sequence we are shown a long shot of San Francisco, the long shot of the city suggests that this is where the movie will be set.  There is then a cross cut from the long shot of the city, to Jake Gyllenhaal, which suggests that he is the main character.  There is also another cross cut between a shot of the characters cartoon work, to a shot of his workplace, which suggests that he works for a cartoon production company.  The music used is very fast drum-roll which suggests the movie is fast toned.

the order of the title credits:
The first name we see in the title sequence is "David Fincher", who is the director of the movie.
After the director we see the names of the main characters "Jake Gyllenhaal", "Mark Ruffalo" and "Robert Downey".  We then see the main title of the movie "Zodiac".
